  • 9 lenses in 3 elements
  • Canon Super Spectra coating to minimize flare and aperture reflections
  • integrated processor
  • Dust and splash water protection

Professional-quality imaging performance
Professional photographers who do not want to travel with several heavy Lenses for shooting distant subjects will find the two new extenders a practical alternative without having to compromise on imaging quality. The EF 1.4x III extender has a seven-lens, three-group design, while the EF 2x III extender has nine lenses in three elements - enhancing the optical performance of both. All lenses feature Canon's Super Spectra coating to minimize flare and aperture reflections - reducing the amount of processing required later. A new fluorine coating on the front and rear glass makes removing water spots or fingerprints much easier than with standard coating.

To ensure control information between Lens and Extender or Extender and camera, both models have an integrated processor. This ensures that all focus, metering and detection information is passed on as quickly as possible - resulting in razor-sharp, well-exposed images. In combination with the latest Canon L-series professional lenses, these extenders offer even higher image quality with increased AF precision compared to earlier versions. Photographers then benefit from razor-sharp images even with dynamic subjects.

New design, even more performance
Canon has redesigned the EF 1.4x III and EF 2x III extenders. The goal was to match the exterior of the latest L-series Lenses; as a result, the extenders are visibly different from their predecessors. The integrated lens release mechanism simplifies the quick attachment of the extenders, minimizing the damaging effects of possible environmental influences on the camera and Lens. The extenders are built as you would expect from Canon professional products. They have dust and splash protection and can therefore be used in extreme situations.

For convenient transport, both the 225-gram lightweight Extender EF 1.4x III and the 325-gram lightweight Extender EF 2x III come standard with a pouch (LP811) and the Extender Cover EII.
