The new FUJINON XF 23mm F2 R WR has a focal length of 35mm (equivalent to KB), making it suitable for a wide range of subjects, from snapshots to landscapes and portraits. It's compact and lightweight, and its fast autofocus is absolutely capable of snapshots.
Special features of the XF 23mm F2 R WR include outstanding resolution performance that exploits the full potential of FUJIFILM's X-Trans CMOS sensor.
In terms of size and design, it is comparable to the already available XF 35mm F2, with which it establishes a stylish new product line of particularly compact and fast XF Lenses. The metal body gives the Lens a premium look and robustness. The aperture ring and focus ring have been designed for the best possible operation.
The Lens is also splash and dust proof and can be used in low temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius - making it the ideal choice for outdoor photographers.
High imaging performance
The optical construction of the FUJINON XF 23mm F2 R WR consists of ten elements in six groups, including two aspherical lenses that guarantee absolutely precise projection onto the sensor plane and thus high sharpness at the same time. The aspherical elements are used in the focus group to keep image quality consistently high over the entire focus range.
Compact and lightweight
With a metal body reminiscent of the XF 35mm F2 R WR in design, the XF 23mm F2 R WR is extremely robust. Despite this, the Lens is very lightweight at only 180g. The compact design of the Lens prevents the optical viewfinder image from being partially obscured on the rangefinder cameras X-Pro2 and X-Pro1*2. The aperture ring and focus ring are designed from the torque and intermediate steps entirely for optimal operability.

Fast and quiet autofocus
Autofocus is based on internal focusing*3, in which a stepper motor moves the focus group quickly and quietly. Combined with the Phase Detection AF of the FUJIFILM X-Pro2 and X-T2, the Lens achieves autofocus speeds of a remarkable 0.05 seconds*4
*3 With this AF system, the comparatively lightweight lens elements in the center or rear of the Lens are moved for focusing.

Splash-proof and dust-proof
The Lens is carefully sealed to protect the inner workings of the XF 23mm F2 R WR from dust and splashing water. The Lens is also still ready for use in low temperatures down to minus ten degrees Celsius. When combined with a FUJIFILM X-Pro2, X-T1, and X-T2 that is also weather sealed, you can shoot in the rain or dusty environments without worry.
Optional Accessories
The LH-XF35-2 metal hood, which is also compatible with the XF 35mm F2 R WR, can be used as a lens hood for this Lens. A silver variant of this hood will also be available at the launch of the XF 23mm F2 R WR, matching the silver model variant of the XF 23mm F2 R WR.
