  • Hoya polarizing filter
  • reduces reflections and increases color saturation
  • antistatic coating
  • ultra-smooth filter rotation
  • dust, water and stain resistant
  • easy to clean
  • professional-quality optical glass
  • two-part, very flat filter frame with front filter thread

HOYA engineers have developed a new anti-static coating that acts like a force field around the filter and repels dust. These filters are ideal for environments where dust is common and require less frequent cleaning and maintenance than conventional filters. In addition, the hardened, anti-static top layer is water-repellent and dirt-repellent and is easy to clean if stains or fingerprints get on the surface.

With circular polarizing filters, photographers can achieve creative effects directly in the camera that are no longer possible after the picture has been taken. A polarizing filter simply filters out unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, as well as light reflected from moisture and pollution in the atmosphere. By rotating the Ultra-Smooth filter, you can select the exact level of filtering required for the creative effect. This results in a bluer sky, greener leaves, reduced or eliminated reflections and greater clarity in your final image.

The new professional FUSION anti-static filters are made in Japan from hand-selected silicates that are carefully melted and blended to create high-performance optical glass. HOYA then applies extreme care and precision to apply the enhanced 18-layer super-multi-coating formula (on both sides), which greatly reduces or eliminates reflections on the glass surface and achieves very high light transmission rates. This means that beyond its polarizing effect, the filter has virtually no effect on the color balance, contrast or clarity of the final image.

The filter has a lightweight, two-part, very flat aluminum frame in which the glass is housed. The flat frame prevents vignetting when used with ultra wide angle lenses.
