The Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II with phase autofocus and internal LUT processing takes your workflow to a new level! The S5 II is the perfect entry into full-frame for photographers & videographers.
The 24.2 MP CMOS sensor of the Lumix S5 II is equipped with a powerful processor and was developed as part of the L² technology partnership between LEICA and LUMIX. This processor not only does a strong job with autofocus, but also with image quality. Thus, the Panasonic S5 II offers a finer resolution than its predecessor. Last but not least, the processor also contributes to capturing the natural colors. The S5 II allows access to Dual Native ISO technology, which reduces ISO noise and expands sensor dynamics.
The IBIS built into the Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II is a 5-axis image stabilizer, which when used with a Lens provides this stabilization up to 6.5 stops. The IBIS itself achieves a stabilization performance of up to 5 f-stops. So, if a Lens without image stabilization is used, these 5 stops are still available.
All doors are open here in the low-light range as well: With an ISO of 100-51,200 and in the extended range up to 204,800 ISO.
The Panasonic S5 Mark II can work with both mechanical and electronic shutter, allowing it to shoot up to 30 frames a second in continuous mode. With a mechanical shutter, the Panasonic manages 9 frames per second.
96-megapixel resolution for Stillife shots
With this feature, the camera creates an entire 96-megapixel shot from 8 images. The camera does not rely on external software for this.
Whether moderate motion or dark situations. This Lumix gives you consistently good and precise autofocus performance. This reliably detects your subject and keeps it in focus, so you can concentrate on what's important: The image composition and the appropriate settings. The autofocus of the Lumix S5 II offers a whopping 779 autofocus points - and thus the best conditions for phase detection. Particularly in backlit or low-light situations, the autofocus comes into its own.
Taking photos is often followed by image editing. But even without any knowledge at all, the Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 II can be used to create images & videos that will amaze the viewer. By using LUTs (Look up Tables) in the camera, colors, exposure, etc. can be influenced like with a preset. A special feature here is that the camera can not only display them, but also save them in parallel.
The Panasonic S5 II sets new standards in many aspects. For demanding videographers, this camera is a dream, because it supports the Opengate format (at 6K) and offers many options for adapting the camera to the needs on set.
For example, the Panasonic Lumix DC-S5 Mark II is also equipped with a full-size HDMI port (type A) and supports some aspect ratios of anamorphic optics. Thus, the S5 II can already internally overlay a LUT over the video footage even in video mode.
Another highlight is the video resolution of the Lumix. Here, the camera manages up to 6K and H.265. At 4K, this system camera manages 60fps cropped. Another technical refinement of the Panasonic S5 II is the waveform display, thanks to which the colors + exposure can be displayed three-dimensionally. Another feature is the programmed focus pull, which allows the focus point to be pulled at up to three predetermined points.
For those who don't always work in the brightest sunshine, this is a robust camera housing where all buttons, knobs and joints are protected from dust and splash water. The placement of the built-in fan sets new standards in terms of heat management. It sits in front of the electronic viewfinder, drawing air in from the front of the camera body, effectively cooling all critical components and ensuring unlimited video recording.
The Lumix S5 II's new viewfinder has once again become significantly higher resolution, with pixel density now at approximately 3.68 million pixels. Optionally, the display speed can also be switched from 120fps to 60fps.
The Panasonic S5 II comes with two SD card slots, both of which represent the UHS-II standard and thus offer enough space for photos & videos. For wireless control, the Lumix S5 II offers a Bluetooth and Wifi interface. These can be used to connect the S5 II with the Lumix Sync app. Among other things, the app enables wireless transfer of images to the smartphone and remote control of the camera without additional accessories.
Panasonic and the other members of the L-Alliance offer a wide range of high-quality Lenses for the L-Mount. Thus, the mount benefits from the developments of the relevant names and also offers the lenses at affordable prices.

LUMIX S PRO 50mm F1.4
With a speed of F1.4 at a focal length of 50 millimeters, the LUMIX S PRO Lens enables a high degree of cropping and a fantastic bokeh with 11 aperture blades.
A total of 13 lens elements in 11 groups ensure maximum resolution right to the edge with minimal distortion and edge darkening. Two aspherical and 3 ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses also prevent chromatic aberration.
A double focusing system, which combines a linear and a stepper motor, as well as 480Hz control ensure fast and precise autofocus. The Lens has a "focus clutch" mechanism that allows the focus ring to be set between two positions, one with and one without focus distance information. This enables fast AF/MF changes and ensures intuitive operability. The LUMIX S PRO 50mm F1.4 also shines in video recordings by reducing the effect of focus breathing.
Dust-, splash- and cold-resistant*1, the Lens can be used in difficult weather conditions - even at temperatures as low as -10°C.
